Though shorter and less pre-vocal instrumentals (maybe Garcia's vocal mic wasn't working at the beginning of the 8-5 Bertha, which would explain why the band opened with the song 2 nights in a row)I believe this is a far better sounding version than the night before.

How about the woman that introduces the band; you get the impression she could barely stand up!

I listened to this full show yesterday, and it is a complete adrenaline rush; a sweat-dripping burst of energy all the way through....

Bertha was the shizzle in '71. I do like the latter versions when Jerry plays the chorus as part of his guitar solo but I don't think they can touch the fun energy of the '71 versions.
